Hyundai Santa Fe 2010 Power Train Automatic TransmissionHyundai Santa Fe 2010 Power Train Automatic Transmission Review #10327208 HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010 car safety problem was reported on Apr 17, 2010.HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010, manufactured by HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . 2010 hyundai santa fe v6 awd limited i put the key in the ignition to start it, and the vehicle lunged forward approximately 6 inches. the vehicle was in park when i started it. luckily my foot was near the brake, so i instinctively slammed on the brake. i do not know how far it would have gone if i had not depressed the brake pedal. luckily the vehicle in front of me was far enough away, also lucky that there was nobody walking between my vehicle and the one in front of mine. i took it to sport hyundai dodge, they were very nice. they put it on their computer scanner, and of course it did not come up with any problem codes. luckily i do not have remote start on this vehicle, because who knows where the vehicle might end up. i was also lucky that i was actually seated in the vehicle and not leaning in to start it. hopefully this was a fluke situation and will never happen again. however, i will have to remember to start this vehicle with the brake depressed if there is something in front of my vehicle. toyota depended on their computers too, which never came up with any error codes either, and they thought the customer was at fault, and look where it got them! *tr.Mileage was 870 miles. Hyundai Santa Fe 2010 Power Train Automatic Transmission Review #10345122 HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010 car safety problem was reported on July 23, 2010.HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010, manufactured by HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . i have the 2010 santa fe banging problem - started about a month after i bought it only happens about 1 per week - dealer claimed they never heard of it before - looked at me like i was some sort of crazy fool. i described it as -- it feels like someone bumped into me from behind - the first few times it happened wife & i actually looked out of the back window expecting to see the car that had rammed us. i really figured the car was going into gear or something - mine is the awd model - i thought maybe it was sending some power to the rear wheels. for about a week every time i would leave home & start the santa fe i would look under the vehicle - then one day it happened as i was looking under. the engine starts - then the vehicle shakes to the point the muffler bangs into the rear of the frame - that is what makes it feel like something hitting the back end. have just started to notice a strange feeling - normally would only happen when we were leaving home - and slowly turning the corner on our street - when the transmission shifts from 1-2 it was like the road was a washboard. today it did the same thing coming home on a 2-3 shift. i talked to hyundai customer service when i had the car in for service and the dealer could find nothing wrong - they offer no help - the old - if it does not register a code on the computer or unless the dealer can duplicate the problem - we will not do anything. per hyundai customer service i am the only person in the world with these problems but i go online and find hundreds of people with the same problem. at very slow speeds when the car shifts from 1st to 2nd it will bang or shift so hard it feels like the car was rear ended... *tr.Mileage was 1500 miles. Hyundai Santa Fe 2010 Power Train Automatic Transmission Review #10345350 HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010 car safety problem was reported on July 25, 2010.HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010, manufactured by HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . 2010 santa fe. i get a loud knock (which jerks the vehicle) every so often when i start the vehicle. the dealer cannot find anything with it. i also get a pause at times going from 2nd to 3rd gear in my automatic transmission. dealer refilled transmission fluid which seems to have helped that a little, but it still jerks at times while shifting gears. the knock has not stopped however. just happened again yesterday which is at least the 15th time it has happened since we bought it in march. i have talked with others who have a 2010 santa fe and they say they have experienced the same problem. all of it seems to be a transmission issue to me, but the dealer says they cannot find anything. not normal, and definitely should not happen with a new vehicle. i really like the vehicle outside of that. *tr.Mileage was 6000 miles. Hyundai Santa Fe 2010 Power Train Automatic Transmission Review #10346453 HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010 car safety problem was reported on July 19, 2010.HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010, manufactured by HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . hyundai sante fe 2010 was purchased new in february 2010. within 3 months the vehicle stalled and died twice while in route.and displayed difficulty up-shifting and down=shifting, 1st - 3rd and 3rd - 1st. returned to service dept of dealer. service dept unable to determine cause of incidents. within 2-3 months post these incidents, the vehicle "clanged and banged"and continued problems with acceleration and shifting gears. also began an intermittent loud "vacuum cleaner" noise during gear changes. returned vehicle to dealer service center and after 4 hour review, was informed the transmission would need to be replaced. when the vehicle was reported as repaired, and was required to be picked-up, no statement or document was provided to indicate repairs or damages. not until the dealership and manufacturer were contacted was the statement offered, one week later. haven't seen the statement yet as it will be accessed through the dealer this week. i was informed the vehicle was repaired by replacing the current defective transmission with the a new same-model transmission. what is that about? replace the defective transmission with a newer defective model, i don't think so! i am a widow with one car to drive for work. in my line of work, i am alone on the road several weeks a year. please can you assist me with this issue? thank you for your consideration. *tr.Mileage was 5000 miles. Hyundai Santa Fe 2010 Fuel System, GasolineHyundai Santa Fe 2010 Fuel System, Gasoline Review #10395871 HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010 car safety problem was reported on Apr 14, 2011.HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010, manufactured by HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE . gas/fuel smell coming from engine compartment into cabin of 2010 hyundai santa fe gls (2.4 l automatic). smell is not noticeable at cold start overnight, or after a couple of hours of sitting. smell is very noticeable after the vehicle is driven to operating temperature and then shut off for anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. the fuel smell comes directly into the cabin when the hvac system is set to vent, but not on recirculate. dealer has removed and replaced fuel injectors and fuel rail. smell still persists. this is a daily occurrence. the smell also occurs when stopped for any amount of time while driving/idling. the smell occurs when the vehicle's engine is off, but the key is turned to the point the hvac will turn on. this means the smell occurs regardless of whether the engine is running or not. the smell accumulates under the hood and is strongest near the passenger side middle. the smell is bad enough to permeate clothes while driving and to be smelled inside the house when the door to the garage is opened. it's bad enough to force parking the vehicle outdoors. it appears this issue is being discussed on the hyundai forums website and most complaints are for the hyundai sonata and sonata turbo, but the description of the issue and potential solutions point to the same cause for my santa fe. the dealer has acknowledged the smell, but not in writing. the vehicle has been in five times for this complaint - twice with work done, twice with no work done (claim was could not replicate), and once i was sent home before any work was done as the service representative determined there was nothing they could do at that time. there appears to be no known solution to this issue coming forth from hyundai at this time. *tr.Mileage was 7500 miles. Hyundai Santa Fe 2010 Power Train Review #10406679 HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010 car safety problem was reported on June 26, 2010.HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010, manufactured by HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with POWER TRAIN . the weekend we purchased our 2010 hyundai santa fe limited, v6, while driving in area with moderate grades vehicle had trouble shifting between 1st & 2nd gears, 2nd & 3rd gears. we thought it could be the area we were driving in, so we continued to drive it to see if that was it. it was not. hard shifting has continued for the complete extent of our ownership commencing at the start. on 12/7/2010, took the vehicle in to be checked, cause: found transmission jerking. module assy-auto trans control re, reset adaptive trans values. recall, p0111, ecm update, performed camp tc7. bring back if continues after a couple weeks. it did continue, but i am a busy person. on 4/21/2011, returned again stating that vehicle was continuing to shift hard, jerking. dealer svc states could not duplicate. vehicle duplicated for me on way home from svc appt. on 6/10/11, returned again for same problem with hard shifting at low speeds, jerking. cause: tcm upgrade, re-reset adaptive trans values, after which svc dept said could not duplicate again. svc mgr states that a new reflash had been issued since they upgraded it last on 12/7/2010. thru research i find no new upgrade has been released on svc messages/notifications. i believe i've been mislead. i am positive that the vehicle will do this again. also, intermittently when only cranking the vehicle and before the vehicle is put in gear it will immediately have a feeling of a large "bang or slam" and then lunge forward even though still in park. the vehicle also makes "popping" sounds when in park kind of like small "backfires". i have also asked them to investigate this and did not get a satisfactory response. they state that all of these symptoms are connected to the "new reflash" that has come out since the 12/7/2010 svc appt. it "should" fix it. i say recall it. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 795 miles. Hyundai Santa Fe 2010 Power TrainHyundai Santa Fe 2010 Power Train Review #10412714 HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010 car safety problem was reported on July 10, 2011.HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2010, manufactured by HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with POWER TRAIN . this is a low-mileage hyundai awd santa fe limited with 19" allow rims. at about 11,500 miles i noticed grease on the inside of the front-left wheel. it was thick and green in color, the grease used to lubricate the axle joint. the centrifugal force from the axle sprayed the grease along the inside of the wheel. i checked the cv boot and axle and it appeared the grease was leaking from the seal between the boot and the axle hub. there was a very slight leakage coming from the right wheel axle as well. this should not happen with a vehicle only a year old. i took it to the hyundai dealership and they confirmed the leakage on both wheels and ordered two axle seal kits, which will include replacement of the joint. there was no charge for the inspection and there will be no charge for the repair. if this went unnoticed it could cause an axle to overheat and fail. at high speeds this could cause an accident..Mileage was 11982 miles. (see my initial complaint #10379504) since my original complaint, the dealer put in a "data recorder" to try to capture what was happening. despite 2-3 episodes of this happening while the recorder was on, they were not captured on the unit. they told me there was nothing wrong with the car, yet it continued to get progressively worse. at about 9000 miles, it happened again- the worst episode yet. at that point i was afraid for my safety. i drove the car home and then to the dealer. after the dealer did further testing on the at, they told me there was in fact something wrong with the at, and they put in a new transmission. within 1000- 2000 miles on the new transmission, in started bumping again when cold, shifting from 1st to 2nd. i took it back to the dealer, but of course they can not duplicate the problem. they said it had a fast idle and adjusted it. they also said i should warm the car up 5-7 minutes prior to driving it each time, since i report this only occurs while it is cold. they say there is nothing wrong with my car, just as they told me earlier, prior to finding out there was a problem with the at. when i left the dealer after telling me this, it bumped twice before i got out of their parking lot, and continues to do so, once even while it was warm. i called hyundai consumer affairs, they parrot back to me everything the dealer tells me, and offer no new suggestions other than to consult my owners manual on conflict resolution. *tr.Mileage was 10000 miles. I also own and drive a Hyundai. thanks Bill Finn I had a problem with stability control in a 2010 AWD hyundai Tuscon in windy conditions. I was driving on a straight stretch of road in New Mexico and with gusts of wind the car tilted onto  the 2 right wheels.  I was so shaken I pulled off the 2010 Santa Fe Limited alternator failed within 2000 km of new. Are there any service bulletins out on this? I have a 2006 Sonata 2.4 which frequently fails to start on first attempt and appears to be getting more frequent. In addition the fule consumption averages about 13 l/100km. Low revs are sometimes uneven and 1st gear pull off shudder is frequentl hyundai 3500 generator ,no gas going to sparkplug sounds like clutch, i believe you need to change it!
